Warren W. Prothero

Warren Walter Prothero, 87 died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. Funeral services will be 10am Tuesday, February 19th at Bloomfield United Methodist Church with burial following at Avon Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday from 4-7pm at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
Warren was born in Polk County on January 4, 1921 to Gomor and Margaret Prothero. He married Nellie Pontious on January 18, 1946. Warren was a sergeant in the Army during WWII. He was a self employed body man for 50 years and also worked at the city of Des Moines for 13 years. Warren enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the VFW Post 2099 in Carlisle, the Pioneer 22 Masonic Lodge, and the American Legion Post 0374.
Warren is survived by his wife Nellie Prothero; his children Jimmie (Margaret) Prothero, Eyvonne (Dennis) Prothero Thomas; his grandchildren Stacy (Lucia) Potter, Christine (Jeremy) Thomas, Brian Thomas, Michelle (John) Prothero Severino, Joseph (Cheralie) Prothero; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; his 3 brothers Edwin, Donald, Robert Prothero and his son Warren G. Prothero.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bloomfield United Methodist Church Building Fund.
