Florence Priebe

Florence Elizabeth Priebe, 84, died at Iowa Methodist Medical Center on Saturday, February 9, 2008.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Burial will follow at Berwick Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Florence was born in Menlo, Iowa but lived in the Des Moines area all of her life. She was a homemaker and enjoyed collecting many things. Her largest collection was her salt and pepper shakers, a collection of chickens and a collection of Santa Clauses. She enjoyed taking trips with the Senior Groups. She was an active member of Simpson United Methodist Church, where she quilted one day a week. She also loved and enjoyed all of her nephews and nieces taking part in their activities, including weddings and new babies.
She is survived by two sisters, Mildred “Millie” Heston and Mary Whitaker both of Des Moines. One niece and four nephews, seven great nieces and nephews, six great great nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Ralph Priebe.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Simpson United Methodist Church.
