Mary E Flaherty

Mary Elizabeth Flaherty, 87, died Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Trinity Center at Luther Park. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mary was born August 13, 1920 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Dale and Elizabeth Knowlton. She lived in Des Moines since 1935 and worked as a cashier for Walgreens Pharmacy. Mary loved to garden and go to Prairie Meadows.
Mary is survived by her children, William (Janice) Flaherty, James (Dianne) Flaherty, Cathy Warner, Mary Ann Flaherty, Michael Flaherty and Patrick (Lil) Flaherty; sister, Jeanne Newman; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
