Michael Charles Peters, 69, was born February 18, 1948, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Clifford and Florence Peters. He passed away after a courageous battle with cancer of Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Michael was an employee of Firestone for 30 years and was a member of Iron Workers Union. He enjoyed woodworking and his dogs, Nikki, Maddie and Cooper.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Nancy; children, Michael (Adonna) Peters, Kari (Jason) Bauler, Desiree Berger and Angie Williams; step-daughter, Tabatha Lee; grandchildren, Cameron (Makenzie) Peters, Katie (Taylor) Peters, Xander, Zoe and Kassidy Bauler, Tyler, Megan and Brooklynn; great-grandchildren, Brinkley and Kynlee; and his brothers, Nick (Karla) Peters and Richard Peters.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Florence Peters and two grandchildren.
According to Michael’s wishes, there will be no public services at this time.

Mike hired me when I worked for Total Petroleum-Formally Vickers and was my boss and had me beat. We both hired on at Firestone and his clock no. happened to be a couple numbers higher so I had him beat in in seniority, which I teased him just a little about. Mike was a kind person and talked of his family lovingly and I think he did enjoy his life. My condolences go out to his family and he will be deeply missed.
