Service Details
Richard E. McKinney, 96, passed away September 19, 2017, at The Bridges at Ankeny. He was born July 17, 1921, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, to Walter and Lena McKinney.
Richard is survived by his children, John (Janice) McKinney, Charlotte (Jerry) Clarke, Judy (John) Newlin, and Cindy (Butch) Styles; 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild; as well as other loving family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. A graveside service will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Guthrie Center, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Berwick Congregational Church in loving memory of Richard.

Richard was more than someone who had his health ins. plan with me. He became a friend over the years. Thank you Richard for taking the time to tell me things about your experiences. I will miss you Richard & look forward to seeing you again.
