Barbara Jean Day

Barbara Jean (McIntosh) Day passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the age of 86. Barb was born on May 17, 1931 in Richmond, CA to Archie and Blanche McIntosh.
Barb married Henry Leslie Day on November 25, 1945. They had two daughters: Mary Ann Lewis and Donna Day. They lived all over the world while her husband was in the military and finally settled in Ankeny, IA in 1965.

Barb loved spending time with her family. Everything from BBQs to playing games or just plain visiting. She worked at Walmart in Ankeny for 25 years where she was a people greeter. She loved to visit with all the people that came through the doors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, husband, and her daughter Donna.

Survivors include: her daughter, Mary Ann; her son, Brian (Wendee) Day; 4 grandchildren: Tracy, Mike (Brandon), Katelynn (Korey) and Kyler; one great granddaughter Brooke (Sean); and one great-great grandson Dominick.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.
