Joseph Leonard “Joe” LeClair

Joseph LeClair, age 53, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. He was born on December 10, 1963 in Des Moines, Iowa. Joe graduated from Dexfield High School in Redfield class of ’83. He worked many years as a framer for Paschell Construction. Joe had a passion for motorcycles, cars, pushing sprint cars, and anything that was fast. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Cindy LeClair; children, Joe (Lori) LeClair, Jr., Richelle (Andy Montes) Knight, Allison (Richard Miller) LeClair, Jacob LeClair, William LeClair, and Jesse LeClair; grandchildren, Hailey, Lettie, Rosie, Alliaunna, Andreas, Annalynna, Anastasia, Javier, Mila, Anayi, Annabella, and two on the way; father, Ed (Billie) LeClair, papa Joe Thompson; siblings, Jane (Kevin) Findley, Stephanie (Danial) LeClair-Johnson, and DeAnn Williams; step-sisters, Kelley Kuhns and Kathy Kuhns; many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by mother, Donna Polson; brother-in-law, Charles Knight; two grandchildren; and step-siblings, Bill Kuhns and Kimberly Kuhns.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2017 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 19th, also at the funeral home followed by burial at Sunset Cemetery.
