Linda Ford Vermie
September 11, 2017
Linda Ford Vermie, friend, wife, Mom, and Grandma lost her lengthy fight with metastatic breast cancer on September 11, 2017. A visitation will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. Private burial of her cremated remains will follow at a later date.
Linda was born to Mary and Robert Ford of Zion, Iowa. She attended Orient Macksburg High School and was an Iowa State University graduate. Linda's career in graphic design spanned the next forty years. She designed newspaper ads, magazine layouts, books and advertising for the Omaha World-Herald, Meredith Publishing, August Home Publishing and DCC Marketing. Linda also spent several years as a freelance graphic designer while she raised her family.
She is remembered by her husband, Kirk; sons, Andrew (Lauren) and William; daughter, Allison (Eric) Lambert and their children, Charlotte and Race; brothers, Jim and Chuck (Angie) Ford; and sister, Rhonda (Scott) Thompson.
Linda's family requests that in lieu of flowers you support, in some way, the battle against this ugly disease. Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

Linda was a beautiful, talented, warm, and friendly classmate of mine at O-M. She was a friend to everyone, always willing to help and to encourage others. Aware of her health struggles, I have prayed for her over the years. I am glad she can now rest in the care of God's hands for eternity. Condolences to her family. Heaven gained a beautiful soul.
