Kathy Kennedy

Kathy Kennedy, 53, of Des Moines, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 following a brief illness. Kathy Ann was born on June 24, 1964 in Des Moines.

Kathy loved her children, grandkids and animals. She was outgoing and never let things hold her back.

Those left to miss her greatly are her husband of 11 years, Dennis; her two children, Michael McGolthlin II and Desiree McGolthlin; two grandchildren, Alysa Marye and James Franklin III; siblings, Karen (Dennis) Donahue and Walt Cummings; and many other loving family and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her dad, William Hewitt and her moms, Helen Hewitt and Ruth Ann Hewitt, ; siblings, Michelle Breeding, Fred Leach, Wendall Leach, John Leach and James Cummings and her sister in-law, Theresa Leach.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines. Family will greet visitors an hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
