Karen Balliet, 63, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born in Stuart, Iowa on December 1, 1953.

Karen worked at Carlisle Care Center as a CNA for 15 years up until a year ago. She enjoyed going out with friends and family playing slots at Prairie Meadows and Meskwaki Casino. Karen loved to go fishing and cooking, she made everything in a pot using her own personal recipes. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her!

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Kaytrina Balliet and Shanelle (Joey) Farr; grandchildren, ShayKayla (Terrell James) Balliet, Kaylia (Courtney Saunders) Balliet, Kennis Balliet, Jayden Farr, and Jace Farr; great-granddaughters, Aaliyah and Amiyah; sisters, Susie Brown, Tish Stonehocker, Ebby Stonehocker, Rea Stonehocker, and Hazel Rankin; her friend, Jasper Powell who always made time to visit, beloved dog, Peanut; and a host of extended loving family and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Betty King; and grandmother, Netty Waller.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
