Jane E. Jones

Jane E. Jones, 74, passed away August 10, 2017 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Jane was born November 21, 1942 in Topeka, Kansas to Orville and Genevia Aller. She graduated from North High School. Jane retired from Nationwide, (formerly Allied), after 30 years of service in the mailroom. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Jane is survived by her children, Shelley Jones, Angela (Shane) Smith, Danny (Susie) Jones, Jessy (Dan Smith) Summy, Jackie (Anthony) Nizzi, Jeffrey (Amanda Annett) Summy; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Viola, Erica (Chad Oliver) Viola, Dallas Smith, Cody Smith, Mike (Janelle) Smith, Tanner Smith, Dylan (Diedre Little) Jones, Marana Jones and Sydney Jones; 18 great-grandchildren, Tristen, Summer, Kaloeb, Gavin, Kadence, Gabby, Madison, Adeline, Vincent, Ben, Ryan, McKinlee, Taylor, Romeo, Jordan, Ava, Cade and Ryland; best friends, Mary and Tiny Henderson; sister-in-law, Phyllis Aller; and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Denny Jones; and her brothers, Bob and Butch Aller.

A celebration of Jane’s life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the donor’s favorite charity in loving memory of Jane.
