Janette Young

Janette “Nette” Young, 64, passed away August 6, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born July 18, 1953, in Des Moines, to Harvey and Arlene Lewis.

Janette worked for the Bondurant-Farrar Community Schools and enjoyed her mornings as a crossing guard. She also enjoyed crocheting, watching her granddaughter play volleyball, and transporting her grandchildren to school.

Janette is survived by her children, Angie (Bob) Fredericksen, Steven Young, and Dennis Young; mother, Arlene Lewis; grandchildren, Chloe Fredericksen and Gabe Fredericksen; siblings, Janice (Max) Cummings, Janine (Al) Lewis, Harvey (Sue) Lewis, and Julene (Darrell) Ripperger; as well as a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey; husband, Ronald Young; and special friend, Rick Pearson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Bondurant Christian Church, 304 Grant Street South in Bondurant with burial to follow at Bondurant Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW.
