Larry Osborn

Larry Osborn, 73, passed away on July 30, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. He was born June 1, 1944, in Newton, Iowa to Everett and Imogene Osborn.

Larry was a master gardener, loved camping and his pet, Shotzy. He was a member of the Pond Club and was always known as a jokester and a prankster.

Larry is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sherrie Osborn; children, Heather (Phillip) Bryant, John (Abby) Hughes, and Tim (Becky) Hughes; grandchild, Ammeri Osborn; siblings, Gary (Linda) Osborn and Kathy (Dwight) Baldwin; best friend, Shotzy; many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Keith Osborn.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona, with burial to follow at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday also at the funeral home.
