David Haines

David Paul Haines, 68, left us this week to be with his beloved wife, Nancy J. Haines. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Winifred Haines. David was born August 17, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa.

David was a loyal employee for Pinkerton Security Company for 21 years and later for Walgreens for 18 years.

He enjoyed many fun times that always included many friends and family. Those times included playing cards, playing pool, fishing with Nancy, and offering toasts with a shot of good whiskey. Dave will be remembered as a “true gentleman”, somewhat hard to find. He was a genuinely kind person. All those who knew and were to meet him will remember his kind nature and his smile under his moustache.

David is survived by his step-daughter, Paula Clark; step-son, David Clark; cousin, Jim (Denise) Haines; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Clifford Michaels; brother, Larry Wilson; sister, Grace Ann Wilson; and many special friends.

Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 4, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, and will conclude with burial at Glendale Cemetery.
