Rosemary (Murphy) Griffin, 89 of Des Moines, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017. Rosemary was born on December 16, 1927 to Edward and Rose Murphy in Des Moines, IA. She graduated from St Joseph Academy in 1945. She was employed by Northwestern Bell and retired in 1989. Rosemary met and married the love of her life, Al Griffin, on June 11, 1949. She is survived by her children, brother, Edward Murphy; and sister, Eileen Holton. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Al.
Rosemary was a loving mother, devoted wife and GREAT friend to all that met her. She was an incredible cook and was a skilled cake decorator. She made many wedding cakes for family and friends throughout the years. Her passion was preparing and hosting family and friend gatherings. She spent hours planning, preparing the food, buying special gifts and hosting for the people she LOVED. Her radiant smile and laugh made everyone instantaneously fall in love with her. She was a rare individual, so giving, so loving, she will be missed.

I cherish my memories of the times we spent together. She loved unconditionally, gave everything she had to each relationship and will be greatly missed.
To this day, I cannot walk into a store without smiling and thinking about how she touched everything she saw. She loved to shop and Oh how she loved to travel!
I took many trips with her and Al and she was always so excited about everything she saw. She viewed the world with a child-like, wide eyed wonder and it was infectious! When we traveled, she studied the map and always wanted to know where we were at any given moment.
When I think of Rosemary, I think of fun, laughter and love. Everyone always says Rest In Peace but knowing Rosemary, she's not resting, she is out exploring her new environs and I know she's loving it.
My love to you all, I know you will miss her but I also know you will carry her with you the rest of your days. Don't forget her laugh!
