Randall "Randy" Steinbach
July 24, 2017
Randall E. “Randy” Steinbach, 51, passed away July 24, 2017, after a seven month battle with lung and brain cancer. He was born May 25, 1966, in Des Moines, to Sally and Frank Steinbach Jr.
At an early age, Randy revealed his true talents; if it had a motor, he could fix it; if it had wheels, he would ride it, something he stayed true to throughout his life. Randy graduated from the diesel mechanic program at DMACC and used his craft at Polk County Public Works for nearly 30 years. He was a proud AFSCME Member; Council 61 Local 1868.
Like the Frank Sinatra song, Randy always did things “His Way.” He lived a full life, always had a good time, and loved his corvettes and toys.
Randy is survived by his father, Frank Jr.; brothers, Robert (Kathy) and their son, Austin, Michael and his children, Christina and Jeremy, and Frank III (Lisa) and their son, Quentin; great-nieces, Madilynn and Kaylieann; as well as a host of other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sally.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be received by the family for future designation.
