Dorothy Olney

Dorothy Olney was 97 years old when she passed away peacefully at Millpond Senior living in Ankeny, Iowa. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin to George and Elizabeth Servais. Dorothy worked for NW Bell in Wisconsin, then moved to California before coming to Des Moines in 1951. She worked for State Auto Insurance until 1981 when she retired. Dorothy enjoyed reading and visiting with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Tim (Robin) Olney; and grandchildren, Lindsey, Ryan, Justin, Josh and Noah. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; son, Tom; and five siblings.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Unity Point Hospice in lieu of flowers.

Visitation will be held Wednesday July 26, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m., both at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Interment follows at Warren Powers Cemetery in Runnells.
