David Chubb, Sr.

David E. Chubb Sr., 65, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. A funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with visitation one hour prior to service. Cremation will follow service.
David was born August 2, 1942 to Harry and Hazel Chubb in Des Moines. He worked as a grain operator for Avon Grain for many years, retiring in 1983. David served in the Army and attended Saylorville Baptist Church.
David is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Cheryl Phalen, David Chubb Jr., and Ronnie Chubb; wonderful granddaughter, Jennifer; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Steve and Tommy Chubb; nephews, Ernest and Mark Entsminger; brother-in-law, Daniel Huffman; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Joshua Ingledue; and sister, Ellen Chubb.
