Service Details

D. LuCerne Schuler, 88, of Bondurant, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Mitchell Village Care Center after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. The funeral service will be held at 9 A.M. Friday, February 1, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. The visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service on Friday at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
D. LuCerne Schuler was born in Pocahontas, Iowa on December 22, 1919 to John and Dorothy (Crandal) Sineck. She grew up in Laurens where she graduated high school in 1936. She then continued on to graduate from A.I.B. She was a life long accountant and then a travel agent after retiring in 1983. She enjoyed dancing, camping, fishing and traveling.
She is survived by her son, Ron Schuler (Letha Risetter) of Bondurant; grandchildren, John J. Schuler of Des Moines, and Rod (Michelle) Schuler of Minneapolis, MN; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Samantha and Sydney; sister in-law, Norma Schuler of Des Moines. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy (White) Sineck; step-father, Leslie (Pinkie) White, and her husband Donald J. Schuler.
