Roberta J. (Bert) Thompson, 69, of Des Moines died on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Bert’s family will greet friends from 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Bert was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed following NASCAR, the Dolphins and Chiefs. She is survived by her daughter Jamie (Bill Jr.) Poe of Des Moines, her son Jimmie Thompson of Des Moines, her sisters Carla (John) Fees of Des Moines and Patricia Moore of Peoria, Arizona and her brother Robert Moore of Springfield, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband James D. Thompson and her daughter Kelly Rush.
