Paul Larry Fincher

Larry Fincher, 76, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. He was born April 8, 1941 to Paul and Francis (Abrahams) Fincher in Iowa City, Iowa.
Larry worked for Waldinger for over 20 years, lastly as the manager of the Tool Crib. He later retired as a truck driver for Jacobsen Transportation after many years of service. Larry enjoyed playing cribbage with his best friend, Bill Thornton along with his daughters and coached at North Des Moines Girls Softball League for over 10 years. His greatest joy came from spending time with daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his; daughters, Laura (Jack) Thompson, Robyn (Bubba) Bollenbaugh, and Jennifer (Steve) Walker; grandchildren, Joe (Laura), Nick, Jake, Sammi (Andy), Shannon (Marty), and Rylie; great-grandchildren, Tenley, Emma, Gabby, Josh, Sterling and Boone along with a host of other family and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy in 2013 and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

I am so sorry for your loss. Decades ago, I remember seeing your Dad "rocking out" to "Bad Bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Croce, I always smile and think of him each time I hear that song.
