Cecil Ford

Cecil Wayne Ford, 66, of Des Moines, passed away unexpectedly on the 4th of July, 2017 at Mercy Hospital. Cecil Wayne was born on June 9, 1951 to Mildred (Callwell) and William Ford.

Cecil served his country proudly and bravely during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army where he was given a Purple Heart. He enjoyed being with his wife and puppy.

Per his wishes, cremation rites have occurred and he will be laid to rest at Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery in Van Meter.

Those left to honor his memory are his loving wife, Marylyn; loyal companion, Sam; step-children, Kimberly Kost, James (Janice) Kennedy; stepchildren, Ashley Northway, Andrew Pickett II, Dakota Pickett and Dylan Kennedy; step- great-grandchild, Dakota; and other loving family and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Pauline, Charles and Red.
