Vanly Vorasith

Vanly Vorasith, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Vanly was born September 5, 1939, in Vientianne, Laos, to father, Nouanesy Sivanvilay and mother, Khampane Sivanvilay. She was a member of the Lao American Community and Lao Lu. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and she adored her grandchildren.

Vanly is survived by her husband, Bouakeo Vorasith; children, Kongchanh Vorasith, Thongvanh Vorasith, Khanhthong Vorasith, Kongmany Vorasith, Bouaphaphom Vorasith, Sivilay Vorasith, Kagvin Vorasith, Khamtanh Vorasith, and Khamphanh Vorasith; 25 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines.
