Mitchell Gruber

Mitch Gruber, 53, passed away on June 27, 2017, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He was born in Des Moines, on July 30, 1963, to Clarence and Frances Gruber.

Mitch graduated from Southeast Polk High School and attended DMACC. He loved his dogs, enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on cars, and was a master griller.

Mitch is survived by his wife of 19 years, Cindy Gruber; sisters, Gladys (Dennis) Kadner and Paulette Weir; brothers, Dana (Shirley) Gruber and Chris Gruber; eight nieces and nephews; seventeen great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen (Alonzo) Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Si Gruber; and nephew, Shaun Shepherd.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, July 7, 2017, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
