Steven Bonney, 39, of Des Moines passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017. He was born on September 29, 1977 in Fort Carson, Colorado to James and Woncha Bonney.
Steven graduated from Lincoln High School in 1997. He worked in retail. Steven was a hard worker and always worked numerous jobs in order to provide for his beautiful daughter, Kiara. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, James and Woncha Bonney; daughter, Kiara; sister, Susanne (Charlie) Briggs; nephew, Joshua Kline; nieces, Amanda and Kayla Kline and Alaina Briggs; aunts, Sheryl and Linda; and a host of extended family and friends.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 22nd at the funeral home followed by burial at New Virginia Cemetery in New Virginia, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for Kiara’s education in loving memory of Steven.

Dear Susan and family,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Steve. He was blessed with an amazing family and touched the lives of so many. He will never be forgotten and will be with you always. Our last breath here is our first breath in Heaven. One day there will be a glorious reunion. I'm so sorry you and your family are going through this difficult time.

Susan and family, I am heartbroken knowing the pain you are feeling at this time. But please find comfort in knowing that Steven is now at peace, wrapped in the loving arms of Jesus. Please know that you are in the prayers of so many people who love you.
