Kenneth Paul Breuer
June 13, 2017
Ken, the son of Denis and Marlys Breuer, was born in Sibley, IA on October 18, 1950. He graduated from Armstrong High School in 1968 and attended two years of electronic schooling at United Electronics Institute in Des Moines. He served in the Air National Guard for six years in Fort Dodge. Ken passed away early Tuesday, June 13 at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines.
Ken married Patricia McConnell July 31, 1971. Ken and Pat made their home and raised their family in Armstrong until May, 2013 when they moved to Grimes to be closer to their family. “Doing the next right thing” was the phrase that Ken modeled his life around, and this was very evident to everyone that spent any time with him. He lived a life full of integrity, honesty, loyalty and love. His high school sweetheart and love of his life, his four children and their spouses and his 15 grandchildren were the highlight of his life. Attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, watching the Hawkeyes, babysitting, delivering kids to their destinations and giving them endless amounts of sugar and candy is what he lived for. He died riding his bike…something else that he dearly loved. He was such a special person and will be missed by many.
Ken’s loved ones include his wife Pat; children and spouses, Chad (Carrie), Mason City; Jaci (Darin) Tebbe, Clive; Kris (Trevor) Crosson, Indianola; and Matt (Leslie), Grimes. His grandchildren include Lance, Nick, Levi and Emma Breuer; Christian Wittry, Jadin, Gavin and Griffin Tebbe; Rian, Mac, Macie and Cain Crosson; Kadi, Jersi and Breckyn Breuer. Sisters, LeAnne Larson, Farmington MN; Denise Barrett, St Cloud MN; Lisa (Curtis) Perryman, Lake Panasoffkee FL and brothers, Randy, Hutchison MN; Greg (Talli), Waukee, and Scott (Joyce) of Shakopee MN. This love included many other extended family as well as Armstrong, Fairmont and Estherville friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, sister Debra Ray, brother Dan, Mother and Father-in-Law, Joe and Emma McConnell and several other loved relatives and special friends.
In lieu of flowers, all memorials made to “the family of Ken Breuer” will be donated to Blank Children’s Hospital where Ken’s daughter Kris is a Child Life Specialist.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 17, 10:00 a.m. with the Celebration of Life following at 11:00 a.m., Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy, West Des Moines. Arrangements are being made by Hamilton Funeral Home.

Your husband, brother, father, grandfather was the first hero I had as a kid, after my own dad. His default face was a smile. We will miss him. Our best to you all.
