Leslie Jean Austin Myers, 67, of Des Moines, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday June 11, 2017 at her home. Leslie was born on April 1, 1950 in Des Moines to Marilyn Jean (Gardner) and Chuck Austin.
Leslie worked at Arby’s on Army Post for the past 10 years. She enjoyed going to the Lakeside Casino in Osceola. Leslie loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Denise (Araceli); Michelle and Tifany; grandchildren, Britney Steele, Bailey (Matt) Myers, Daniel Martinez, Ivan Sullivan, Hunter Sullivan, Evelyn Myers and Zoe Myers; great-grandchildren, Kairalina Myers and Alaina Fitzgerald; father, Chuck (Janelle) Austin; siblings, Linda (Ben) Patrick, Russell Spaur, Lori (James) Deeds and Randy Spaur; step-siblings, Vickie (Bill) Aasland, Melody (Kevin) Livengood and Mark (Patty) Austin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn; step-father, Robert Spaur; step-mother, Marie Austin and sister, Phyllis Stutes.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Hamiltons’ Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Family will start greeting visitors an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

I am so sorry for Leslie's sudden passing. She was a true super mom...there for her wonderful daughters and other family. Leslie had a personality that was so giving and kind. Everyone respected her that knew her. There's only one location Leslie would be: in heaven watching over all those she loved.

She made broken look BEAUTIFUL,
and Strong look INVINCIBLE.
She walked with the UNIVERSE on her shoulders.... and made it look like a pair of WINGS!!!!!
This is the Leslie Myers that I loved and knew. She will forever be an angel with a heart of GOLD! I loved her like a mother and I am saddened by her passing. But I know she is putting her wings to use and she is at peace.

Leslie had such an infectious personality! There was never a day that she didn't make me laugh! I was so saddened by this news. My condolences to all loved ones, family, friends and co-workers. She always talked about her love for her family. Please take peace in knowing that, she is with you always.

I was so shocked when my daughter Tracy called and told me Leslie passed away.Leslie was a friend, a hard worker but most of all a very devoted Mother my PRAYERS go out to all her family especially to Tiffany who depended on her mother So much her mom was her rock. I am so sorry for your pain.
