Adabelle Larson

Adabelle “Ada” M. Larson, 89, died Sunday, January 13, 2008 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Street. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Ada was born February 9, 1918 to James and Ruth Martin in Maxwell. She graduated from East High School in 1936 and was united in marriage to Leif Larson in 1963. Ada retired as a payroll accountant from Des Moines City Hall. She was a member of Staves United Methodist Church, the Eagles Lodge, and frequented the Senior Center on East 26th and University.
Ada is survived by her children, Joanne (Tom) Heimbach, Gary Larson, and Tena (Ivan) Spencer; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four step-great great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose (Virgil) Gaffney, Dorothy Murphy, and Myra Anderson; special friends, Betty Hartin, Anna McCaughey, and Mary Schlaht; and many other relatives and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leif Larson; two brothers; and four sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Staves United Methodist Church.
