Rose B. (Perkovich) Catron died on Sunday, June 4th in her home at Prairie Vista Village in Altoona, Iowa.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2017, at Ss. John and Paul Catholic Church, Altoona with burial at the Altoona Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. vigil service.
Rose was born August 30, 1932, in Ironwood, Michigan, and daughter of Matt and Mande (Borich) Perkovich. She was a graduate of Luther Consolidated School in Luther, Iowa.
Rose was a member of Ss. John and Paul Catholic Church in Altoona, TOPS #0698 in Altoona, Croatian Fraternal Slavic Center in Des Moines, and Altoona American Legion Auxiliary #682.
She is survived by two sons, Carl Sells of Waukee and Stephen (Beverly) Sells of Altoona; two grandchildren, Shawna Mae (Kray) Shivers and Arthur Sells; sister, Ann Harris of Madrid; niece Maureen Mora-Heggen (Joe) of Pleasant Hill; and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill,” her parents, five brothers and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church.

I just called the Sudan family to let them know that Mama Rose has passed on. Rose was on call to 24 7 it seemed to help Simon, Mary and their two little girls. Elizabeth is now a Doctor and Martha has degree in accounting and business of some kind. Both girls graduated from St. Thomas in St Paul MN. Simon and Mary had four more children, Simon became Lutheren Minister, he traveled back to Sudan many times to help his people,he pass away from cancer about three years ago. Mary still lives in Albert Lee MN James and Peter live in WA ST John lives here in Des Moines, I still help him when he is in need. If anybody has any pictures of them they would them or copies of them.

I remember Grandma Rose very well when I was first married, she was a loving and kind woman, even though it has been a long time since I have seen her she will be missed. Sorry for you loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. Rose will be missed greatly. I enjoyed many conversations with Rose, we talked about many things, but I especially enjoyed hearing about her early life with her parents and siblings, and listening to her music.
