Floyd Miller, 84, passed away very peacefully at his home in Polk City, IA on June 4, 2017. He was born to Floyd and Lily Miller on November 29, 1932, in Polk City.

Floyd served in the United States Army, obtaining the rank of Corporal E4. He worked for Delavan Manufacturing for 28 years and Armstrong Tire for 25 years.

Floyd is survived by his children, Betty Lee Miller, Karla Rae (Jerry) Samo, Leona Sue Kane, and Floyd Neal Miller; sister, Clara Carton; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter, Floyd LeRoy and Vanessa Marie Miller; parents, Floyd and Lily Miller; siblings, Ben Miller, Don “Tucker” Miller, Anna Mary Dunn, and Isabella “Pete” Bass; and one great-grandson, Benjamin Strable.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with burial to follow at Union Cemetery in Polk City. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or Easter Seals Camp Sunnyside in loving memory of Floyd.
