Doris Thacker

Doris Thacker, 88, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 12th at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Doris was a wonderful woman who was widowed at a young age and yet raised her four children making sure they always had everything they needed. She enjoyed fishing and watching all of her grandkids ballgames but especially enjoyed spending time with her entire family.
Doris is survived by her sons Jerry (Norma) Owens, Roger (Cheryl) Owens; her daughters Nadine Grove, Patty Campbell; her brother Dale Trower; her fourteen grandchildren, her twenty-six great grandchildren and her eight great great grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her first husband Ed Owens and her second husband Bill Thacker; two brothers and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
