Gladys Keeling

Gladys J. Keeling, 89, passed away Friday, January 4, 2008 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Gladys was born April 5, 1918 in Delaware Township, Polk County Iowa to Effie and Arthur Hague. She graduated from Ankeny High School. She married Milo Keeling Sr. on October 17, 1939 in Des Moines. Gladys worked as a meat wrapper at the Thrift Way and Safeway Stores. She was a very active member of the Berwick Congregational Church. She was also active in the Polk County Women’s Federation.
Gladys is survived by her son, Richard (Mary) Keeling of Moravia; her grandchildren, Kimber (Shaun) Irwin, Deanna (Mark) Russo and Richard (Keri) Keeling Jr.; Her six great grandchildren. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Milo Keeling Sr. who passed away November 27, 1944 and by her son, Milo Keeling Jr.
