Walter McPhee

Walter Kenneth McPhee, 69, of Des Moines passed away at his home on December 31, 2007. The family will greet friends from 2-4 P.M. Saturday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the visitation.
Mr. McPhee was a lifelong resident of Des Moines and was a member of the Operators and Engineers Union 234 and also worked as a plumber’s helper. He loved animals, fishing and playing cribbage.
He is survived by his wife Beverly, his daughter Tina (Greg) Maser, sons Keith (Mary) McPhee and Pat McPhee, his brother Jim (Mertie) McPhee of Bakersfield, California, his sisters Dorothy Green of Des Moines and Mary (Larry) Leftwich of Coarsegold, California, his 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild as well as nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Carol and his brother Skip Heatherly.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the Animal Rescue League.
He is “one heck of a man” and will be missed by all who loved him. May God bless him.
