Charles Shull

Charles Shull passed away after a courageous battle with cancer Monday, December 31, 2007. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. in Des Moines with burial in Rising Sun Cemetery.
Chick was born and raised on the south side of Des Moines. He married Stephanie Scott in 1971 and then moved to Runnells to raise his family. He worked for Local 74 Heat and Frost Insulators for 37 years. He was a proud union brother!
Chick loved camping, his new motor home, hosting parties, riding his Harley, listening to music, and playing his guitar. He was happiest when his home was filled with family and friends. He was proud of his children, Chip and Reneé and nothing brought him more joy than his grandsons Nicholas and Brayden. Chick found comfort and spiritual guidance in the Summerset Baptist Church.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Stephanie; his son Charles “Chip” Shull; his daughter Reneé (Tim) Harmon; his grandsons Nicholas and Brayden; his sisters, Carolyn (Gary) Walker, and Anita (Bob) Ferren; many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends who will greatly miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents Alette and Charles, and his niece Char’lee Walker.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2008 at the funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family who will donate the money for Mesothelioma research.
