Ruth Kennedy, age 67, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, surrounded by her family.
Ruth was born December 27, 1949 in Illinois, but spent most of her life residing in Arizona and North Carolina. She married Dennis Kennedy on September 22, 2006, and she worked as a supervisor for Verizon in North Carolina. She was a huge dog lover and her dogs, Jake, Sophie and Gizmo held special places in her heart. She enjoyed plants, flowers and bird watching. She was an avid collector of teddy bears and enjoyed many types of crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis, daughter, Lori Rush, step-sons, Daniel and Steve Atkinson, sister, Jeanie, her dogs, and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to an organization close to the donor’s heart in loving memory of Ruth.

Dennis, I know it's almost two months since Ruth's passing but I'm sure you are still missing her like crazy. Please remember that you've got plenty of friends that are only a phone call away.

I am a lead technician at the Tulsa center and worked with Ruth a whole lot. She was a great lady and will be missed. I am very sorry for your loss.
