Audrey Mote

Audrey Mote, 89, of Norwalk, Iowa, passed away May 9, 2017, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk.

She was born December 29, 1927 in Des Moines to Albert and H. Mae Peppin. Audrey graduated from East High School in Des Moines. She married F. Gilbert “Gil” Mote on April 7, 1956. She retired from the Des Moines Public School System in 1994 where she had been an office manager for many years.

Audrey was a very active member and Past Worthy Matron of the Southgate Eastern Star Chapter in Des Moines. She was a member of the Norwalk United Methodist Church.

Audrey is survived by her husband of 61 years, F. Gilbert “Gil” Mote; sister, Dora Munson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and H. Mae Peppin; and her three brothers, Harold, James and Joseph.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Norwalk United Methodist Church, 1801 Sunset Drive in Norwalk.

Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines.
