Ralph Hillabolt

Ralph Hillabolt passed from this earth on December 2nd, 2006. He was born on November 16, 1917 in Milo, Iowa, the only child of Murl and Echo Hillabolt.
Ralph moved his family to Des Moines in 1952 where he enjoyed an active life. He was a scout leader in the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Bellizi MacRae American Legion and Park Avenue Christian Church. He retired from Allied Construction in 1980. Ralph was also an Army veteran having served honorably in the South Pacific during World War II.
He is survived by Dorothy, his loving wife of 65 years; daughter, Sherry; sons, Gary, Dennis and Randy and their families including 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Wednesday, December 6th at Park Avenue Christian Church, 3219 SW 9th St. with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6-8pm Tuesday, December 5th at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
