Betty Channon

Betty J. Channon, 72, of Des Moines, passed away on December 19, 2007 at the Kavanagh Hospice House on 56th Street. The visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2007 from 6 to 8 PM at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 S.W. 9th Street. The funeral service will be at 12:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
Betty was born in Chariton, IA on March 8, 1935 to Lauren and Mary Gullan. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her yard and playing BINGO.
Betty is survived by her children: Robert Armstrong, Richard Armstrong, Kristy Ceretti, Shela Tobin and Craig Channon. Her grandchildren: Ryan Armstrong, Chasity Branchcomb, Randy Palmer Jr., Kenny Hatfield Jr., Cody Channon and Colton Channon. Her great-grandchildren; Chance Tobin, Leslie Kile Jr., Donavan Kile, Brice Kile, Venessa Koontz, Kera Pearl and Makenzie Armstrong. Her half-brother William Hellyer.
Betty is preceded in death by her half-brother Bobby Hellyer.
