Dennis Wilson

Dennis Wilson, 58, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer at Kavanagh House on 56th. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Berwick Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Dennis was born February 24, 1949. He retired from the State of Iowa in 2005 as an elevator inspector. Dennis enjoyed woodworking and taking camping trips with his grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 21 years, Susan; sons, Ken (Cindy) Wilson and their children, Shelby, Brooke, Shyan and Ken, Jr., Kalvin (Tracy) Wilson and their children, Austin, Stephen, Krista and Kayla all of Des Moines, daughters, Korrie Powell and her children, Serenity and Ysabella of Hubbard, IA and Kera Rivera and her children, Boston, Shyne and Edson of Springfield, MO; stepsons, Dave Stifel and his son Jack of Cumming, IA and Jack’s mother, Stacy Stifel of Norwalk, Tom Stifel and his children, Abie, Nick and Tori and their mother, Lori Stifel of Ankeny, Jeff Stifel and his children Brandie and Rebecca all of Des Moines, Jon (Karen) Stifel and their son, Nathan of Priest River, ID; stepdaughter, Barb (Dave) Silvers and their children Jessie and Katie of Nevada, MO; sister, Linda Wilson; and brother, Billy Wilson both of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Wilson; mother, Eula Wilson; an infant sister; and his infant granddaughter, Jordan Stifel.
