LeRoi Austin Jr.

LeRoi Don Austin Jr., 52, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will take place at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 to 8pm Friday at the funeral home.
LeRoi was born June 23, 1955 in San Francisco, CA. He served in the US Navy from 1973-1977. He had worked at a number of places including Stone Container but most recently for the past 8 yrs. he was a newspaper carrier for the Des Moines Register. LeRoi loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing the guitar, liked runnng and lifting weights.
He and his father loved making wood furniture together.
LeRoi is survived by his daughters, Christina Gabel (James), Mandee Smith (Zachary) and Heather Austin (Andy Buckner); his mother, Janet Austin-Lieske,; his grandchildren; Megan Austin, Alec Gabel, Scott Driskill, Avery and Eleanor Smith; his siblings, Lorna Britson (Bruce), Daniel and Gerald Austin, Shirley Schulz (John) and Patty Hines (Brian). He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoi Austin Sr.
