Kevin Brickman

Kevin Leroy Brickman, 58, passed away May 2, 2017 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Kevin was born June 27, 1958 in Des Moines to Elwayne and JoAnn Brickman. He was a truck driver for various companies throughout Des Moines. Kevin was instrumental in the development, fund raising and building of Little All American Football on Des Moines’ Southside. He also served as a mentor to the young men that played. In 2013, he was a double organ transplant recipient. Kevin enjoyed NASCAR and any other type of racing, gardening, music and going on long drives. He was a wonderful cook and loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandkids. Kevin never knew a stranger.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Dawn: daughters, Kori, Staci and Heidi; seven grandchildren, Gage, Hunter, Lily, Ella, Catelyn, Isla and Audrey; brothers, Jack and Jeff Brickman; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sons, Kaine and Nicholas.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 at Scotch Ridge United Presbyterian Church, 13015 Scotch Ridge Road in Carlisle. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 9th at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Little All American Football or the Donor Network.

I will miss your sunrise pics! I have seen you on top, fall and pick yourself back up! I will be waiting for that "ride you were going to take me on" when we meet again, good buddy! Rest peacefully, you will remain in my memories forever!

I grew up neighbors to Kevin. I remember the daily football games we played, and I remember him being so kind and gentle. I pray that his wife, children and brothers all receive the strength they need at this time. God bless you all and rest my friend, Rest In Peace.
