Lewis Hawn

Lewis L. Hawn, 79, formerly of Des Moines, died Friday, December 01, 2006.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial in Waukee Cemetery.
Lewis was born in Adel, Iowa and was a former resident of Sunrise Beach, MO. He retired, and lived in Licking, MO, before moving to New Port Richey, FL. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He worked as a crane operator and excavator in road construction and hauled machinery. He enjoyed welding, working with tools, and creating many things. He also spent time hunting, dancing, and enjoyed family gatherings.
Lewis is survived by his children, Steven Hawn, Shellia Uhl, Shelley Larsen, and Linda Gilmer; his brother, Willard Hawn; his 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Shirley Hawn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Ethel (Grimes); his sister, Mildred Dean; and a great-grandson, Titian Sheeks.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Lewis.
