Jerry C. Frost
April 24, 2017
Jerry Frost, 59, passed away on April 24, 2017 at Taylor House, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born October 12, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Jack A. and Donna C. Frost of Ankeny. He attended Ankeny High School where he earned trophies in wrestling and ribbons in track, until he broke his back at age 17. He later received his GED.
Jerry was a carpenter with Local #106 for 10 years at Mill-Rite Woodworking Company. He was an outstanding mechanic, working for Phil McCaully, and also worked for Larry Perisho with Epic Corporation. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. Jerry loved fishing, camping, boating and collecting trains, both old and new. He tremendously loved and enjoyed his grandchildren. Jerry was a devoted husband and loving father, and was stubborn as a mule.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kim; his two children, Jeffery Frost (Amanda) and Christine (David) Hoye both of Des Moines; 8 grandchildren; mother, Donna Frost; brother, Jack of Collins; sister, Judy (Curt) Josaitis of Alaska; brothers, James (Yvonne) and John (Janet) of Des Moines; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack A. Frost; and his grandson, Christopher Frost Hoye.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, April 30, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, with family receiving friends starting at 1:00 p.m.

Jerry was in my class at school. He always had this mischievous grin on his face, like he was up to no good. Such a sweet guy. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Kelli Rater Wright. Ankeny Class of 1976.

Jerry was an excellent worker, instinctively knew what to do and how to do it. Perhaps a little rough in communications, but was nearly always right. Will miss him.
