Several of us who worked for DHS in Southern Iowa were very dependent on Kay to help us get through the social work masters program. We always felt she owned at least half of our diploma. She was a delight to work with and I was so sad to hear she had passed away.

I met Kay thru Pilot International in 1980. When I moved away 1992 we continued to remain good friends as she came to visit during the Family Circle tennis tournaments on Hilton Head. Kay's Cubs finally won this last year and she was so excited. Family Circle tennis was just last week and again my thoughts were about her. She will be missed.

Jerry, Nancy and family,
I am so sorry to learn of Kay's passing. I truly enjoyed working with her over the past years. I particularly enjoyed her sense of humor and the "funnies" she would pass along to me.
You are in my thoughts.

I found Kay to be a library cheerleader and a great friend. She was so supportive of me when I was on the ILA board & when I wrote my 1st book. We stayed friends on Facebook after we both retired and I will miss her humor & advice.

It is very sad to hear of Kay's passing. All of us in the Iowa library community will remember the outstanding contributions Kay made to ILA. I will always remember the many site visits Kay and I made to Special Libraries each year. Kay loved libraries, and she will be very much missed.

Kay was a friend and mentor to many librarians. Iowa libraries are better because of her influence. Who else could make parliamentary procedure fun?
