Shelly Rae Bitting Palmer

Shelly Rae Bitting Palmer, 45, passed away suddenly on April 6, 2017. Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.

Shelly was born in Des Moines, IA on October 11, 1971. She touched and impacted many lives in her lifetime. She was always willing to listen, lend a helping hand, and share her warm smile. Her advice and heart of gold were greatly valued by her family and friends. Shelly loved to help organize benefits for those in need. She loved to cook for her kids and frequently surprised them by showing up at their homes to cook them dinner. She was talented at crafts and good with her hands. She created all of her own greeting cards for every occasion. She enjoyed working as a bartender at numerous eastside bars. Shelly had a zest for life and a love for her children that expanded all bounds. Her children were her world.

She will be greatly mourned by her mother, Cynthia Conner and her step-father, Neil Conner; her children, Mark (Nancy Cruz) and Lacey Formaro; sister, Theresa (Adam) McKinnon; husband, Bobby Palmer; and many other family members and friends. Shelly was preceded in death by her father, Danny Daniels.
