Donald Nelson, 69, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Genesis Living Center in Des Moines. Donald was born on August 21, 1947 in Des Moines to Doris (Swigart) and Clyde Nelson. He lived his entire life in Des Moines where he loved to fish and work on cars.

Surviving are his sons, Donald, Zachary and Adam; siblings, Jim (Janne), Dennis (Jan), Robert (Cindy) and Mary; and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Orville and his sons, William and Andy.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
