As I ponder what to write to express my sympathy I am taken back to hot summer days filled with baseball games in her yard and an occasional "squirting" with the sprinkler or hose followed by a glass of koolaid Those were the days when talking about life's problems or joys occurred over a cup of coffee with your neighbors or while hanging clothes to dry. Geneva, Rosie Burkhead and my Mom, Loretta, had many discussions over a cup of coffee. You didn't run to the store for a loaf of bread or a cup of sugar...you borrowed it from your neighbor. They loaned to each other so often I think they sometimes lost track of what was owed and who it was owed to. Geneva always made a Christmas platter of cookies, cakes and sweet breads that was always such a treat for our family. My daughter enjoyed knowing her as she worked the garden next door with her Uncle Tom. Sharing tomatoes with Geneva and a short visit was a favorite of Kristi's. Geneva was a kind and generous person that was a wonderful neighbor and friend. I'm glad we knew her and am so sorry for the loss of her presence here. She will be remembered fondly by all of us.
