Dear Suzi & Marlys,
I just heard that your dear Mom passed away. I would love to be there with you, but I don't see how I can accomplish it.
I don't think I can come up with the words to express to you the impact that your parents, my only pastor & pastor's wife, had on my life. Your Mom was probably the most influential person in my life apart from my own mom. My mom has told me several times how much I remind her of your mom as she views my minsitry. I guess its just the only way I know to "do it!" She was my example! And she was a GREAT example!
I'm so thankful to the Lord for the privilege to have her as my pastor's wife. She was faithful, cheerful, dedicated and much more! My first memories I think were in "Jet Cadets" We worked hard studying, taking notes, etc., but she made it so much fun! Do you remember the train ride? She worked hard to make VBS great for us too. She also gave me a love for music and music ministry. I try to make sure that we use "Babe In The Manger" every Christmas. It is still one of my favorite songs. Mom recently helped me find a copy of "Satisfaction". If she had times of discouragement or disappointment, I surely never saw it. She loved the ministry and helped me love it too!
I also treasure the times in your home. She was the same at church or in the home. Every time I see a Christmas gingerbread house - I remember your Mom. (Now isn't it ironic that we own the Southview house! I still can't believe it!) So many "sleep overs" and fun times! What precious memories!
I'll be praying for you tomorrow. Wish I were there to see you and give you a hug!
Love,
Anne
