Lucille M. Sullivan
March 15, 2017
Lucille Sullivan, 73, passed away March 15, 2017, in Des Moines, IA. She was born in Melrose, IA on May 29, 1943, to parents Leo and Evelyn Scieszinski.
Lucy was united in marriage to James Sullivan on September 14, 1962, in Des Moines. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always took time for her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lucy had a zest for life, a great sense of humor, and was a feisty “mostly” Irish woman. She and James wintered in Florida for many years and she loved spending time at the lake with family and friends. Lucy also enjoyed gardening, camping, and was always up for a game of Euchre.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 54 years, James; children, Alan (Gail) Sullivan, Robert Sullivan, Kelly (Bob) Perkins, Rhonda (Jim) Raymond, Frank (Tammy) Sullivan, and Mary (Tim) White; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, David, Donald (Joan), and Gene (Patti); loved by all. She was preceded in death by her sons, Christopher and James Jr.; her parents, and brother, Raymond.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, 510 E. 1st Street in Ankeny, with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m.
