Service Details
Doris Robinson Howard passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017. She loved bright sunny days and was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Lady’s Auxiliary. She is survived by her sons, Ron (Jackie) Richardson and Tim (Mary) Howard, daughter, Linda (Joe) Ward, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Bud Howard and her son, Forest Richardson. A special thank you to friend and neighbor, Meg Huxford. Doris will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will begin at 12 p.m., followed by funeral service at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Berwick Cemetery.

So sorry to hear of Doris passing. I'm so glad she was with you, Linda, instead of home alone. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family as you lay Doris to rest tomorrow.

It was my privilege to have been Doris' speech pathologist following her stroke years ago. Despite her disabilities, she was a positive spirit and worked hard to recover. She gave me a ceramic Easter rabbit as a "thank you" gift and I am always reminded of Doris each time we decorate for the Easter holiday. Doris' life made our world a better place.
